Expat health insurance customers hoping to get away for a break this Christmas could visit the perennial winter favourite: Lapland.
According to Riitta Balza, UK and Ireland marketing manager for Visit Finland, the ultimate Christmas destination still offers a "magical" winter destination for families.
"Finnish Lapland continues to provide an unprecedented range of winter activities including husky excursions, snowmobiling, ice-dipping, visits to reindeer farms, as well as the opportunity to see the incredible Northern Lights," she pointed out.
Visitors might also like to see the new Santa's Resort Kakslauttanen in Saariselka; a small village where the man himself and his assistant elves work all year round, Ms Balza said.
According to research by holiday specialists Santa's Lapland, three-quarters (74 per cent) of people surveyed said they love spending time with their family at Christmas and the best thing about the holiday is seeing little ones' faces on Christmas morning.
