GP & Outpatient Cover for Expats

GP and outpatient care is a vital part of your routine healthcare requirements. At Expatriate Group, we provide flexible and comprehensive cover for your GP and outpatient treatment, ensuring you’re covered for a range of care, from prescription medication to minor surgery.

What is GP Cover?

GP and outpatient cover refers to the healthcare you receive when a hospital stay isn’t needed. It will typically include routine care and treatment for minor injuries or illnesses. This could include consultations with a doctor, prescribed medication, and minor surgery where an overnight stay isn’t required.

Why is private GP insurance important for expats?

In many countries, healthcare costs can be extremely expensive, leaving expats with high costs to pay for even routine care. Private GP insurance with outpatient care for expats means you will be covered for all your healthcare needs.

Private GP health insurance allows expats to access the best possible care in whichever country you’re living in. Often, private healthcare will include GPs who are multilingual, so you’ll be able to find a doctor who speaks your language. Private GP insurance from Expatriate Group means you can always get the treatment you need from the best healthcare professionals, without any extortionate bills to pay.

What GP and outpatient cover do I get?

Expatriate Group provides four different plans, each containing different levels of outpatient care for expats. As standard, our top three plans include cover for family doctor, GP, specialist, and physician consultation fees, as well as outpatient surgeries. All cancer treatment is also covered across all four of our plans.

Prescribed medication and drugs will be fully covered in our Select and Primary+ plans. These plans also include cover for managing chronic conditions, psychiatric care, physiotherapy and alternative medicine sessions, and all required diagnostic tests (including MRI, CAT, and PET).

Our Primary+ Lite plan includes cover for prescribed medication, physiotherapy, and diagnostic tests, with a cap at $/€1,000. Our Primary plan – which is our introductory hospitalisation plan – also includes prescribed medication, diagnostic tests, and physiotherapy associated to any in-patient stay, for pre-hospitalisation and 60 days post-hospitalisation.
