Any Irish expatriate will tell you that a packet of Tayto crisps instantly transports them back to their homeland and now the flavour has been immortalised in a chocolate bar.
The limited edition cheese and onion Tayto chocolate bars have sold out in Ireland, but there is still a chance for expats living in Australia to get their hands on one.
Taste Ireland, which imports Irish foodstuffs to Australia to help those feeling homesick, took delivery of a total of 24 bars and quickly realised that they would be in high demand.
Five remain and a raffle has been organised through Facebook to decide which of the lucky expats will receive them.
Eamon Eastwood, chief executive officer at Taste Ireland, said: "I couldn't believe the reaction, it went off the Richter scale with almost half a million impressions."
"It's an unusual taste – crunchy chocolate and then a lingering taste of cheese and onion"
Tayto crisps have been made at Tayto Castle in Ulster since 1956.
