Hurricane Irma Red Cross Donation

Just off the West African coast, clouds formed and winds picked up shy of the Guinea-Bissau shoreline. The gusts averaged around 29 mph. Little did we know that this storm was to develop across Cape Verde and evolve into a category five hurricane as it charged towards the Caribbean.

Hurricane Irma is the most powerful Atlantic Ocean hurricane recorded in history. It made its landfall on Wednesday 6th of September, causing devastation and tragic loss of life in Barbuda and Antigua, before going on to wreak apocalyptic scenes throughout other Caribbean islands including St Martin, the Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.

Expatriate Group Helps Hurricane Irma Relief Efforts

We will be donating 100% of income from sales of our International Travel Insurance cover to the Hurricane Irma relief effort. Every penny from Travel Insurance policies purchased between the 11th and 15th of September will go to the cause.

Not only do we want to help those affected; many of our customers live, work, or holiday in the Caribbean islands. Furthermore, many Expatriate Group staff have friends and family located in the Caribbean region.

Where Will the Donation Be Going?

All the funds raised from our International Travel Insurance sales will be donated to the Red Cross. Their Hurricane Irma Appeal urgently needs donations to help with relief efforts throughout the countries that have been affected. If you do not require travel insurance but wish to make a donation, click here to be directed to the Red Cross appeal page or call their Hurricane Irma donation line on 0300 023 0812.

If you need International Travel Insurance make sure you purchase through Expatriate Group between the 11th and 15th of September. This way, you will be helping those affected by Hurricane Irma take their first step on the long road to recovery.
