Expatriates looking forward to seeing Carlos Santana at the Dubai Jazz Festival in February should be aware that the great man will be playing a day earlier than was previously planned.
Organisers have responded to huge demand for tickets to see the guitarist by swapping round the bill and having him play on February 20thinstead of 21st.
While the tickets already purchased for the event will remain valid, it assumes that fans will be able to accommodate the switch.
The decision by Chillout Productions to move everything in the second weekend of concerts a day earlier means that some events will be during the week, as opposed to on Thursday nights when most workers have the following day off and Friday.
For example, Jamie Cullum and Colbie Caillat will now perform on the 19th, which is a Wednesday.
Anthony Younes, chief executive officer at Chillout, said: "We took this initiative solely for music enthusiasts due to a conflicting scheduled event.
"We know that some won’t be happy with this decision, especially that we have been the first one to announce the dates of the festival, but we have to take action and respond to the request of thousands of Santana fans."
In addition to changing the date, the Santana concert will also feature a bigger area, allowing more people to get tickets to the event.
Original passes for the VIP area sold out in a matter of days, so extra tickets for a VIP terrace section have become available.
The Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival 2014 will be held from February 13th to 20th at Festival Park – Dubai Festival City.
Next year will be the 12th edition of the festival, which is unique in the region, after it was first launched in 2003.
The full line-up for 2014 is yet to be released, but previous years would suggest it will feature some world-class acts.
