The Local, a website providing news to expatriates in English, is expanding its reach as it opens an office in Spain.
Previously the service has been well received in Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, France and Norway, so local news, features and information will now be available to expats in Spain too.
In April another branch is also expected to be opened in Italy, proving how the empire sees a capacity for growth, reports Journalism.co.uk.
While some expats have a working knowledge of the language in the destinations they move to, others find it hard to read a local newspaper.
Having editions of nationals sent from the UK is a necessary luxury for many, but they do not contain much news about the location where they now live and The Local fills that gap.
James Savage, co-founder and managing editor, told the news provider: "You want to be able to plug in immediately to what's going on there."
