Expatriates who have been able to purchase British style bread, crumpets and muffins in Central European countries such as Hungary have seen their supply cut off.
Warburtons has released a statement saying that its trial into selling products in parts of the continent has come to an end.
It is bad news for Brits living abroad who cannot get their hands on the goods and will have to do with local alternatives instead.
The company's statement said: "We have put every effort into making this work, but a number of challenging factors such as high distribution costs, have meant that at present we're unable to continue."
There has been an outcry from the expat community in Budapest, which has called for a return of the soft sandwich bread to the shelves of local shops.
Warburtons stated that it was continuing to explore the options for returning its products to Hungary and the rest of Central Europe, saying that it would keep customers updated if a solution is found.
