Do you provide specialised international health insurance coverage for expat families?

Yes, Expatriate Group provides international health insurance for expat families, covering adults and dependant children under a single policy. Plans are available at four levels, allowing families to match their cover to their healthcare needs and budget.

What family cover includes

All Expatriate Group plans covering families include inpatient hospital treatment for all policyholders, surgical procedures, specialist consultations, emergency medical treatment worldwide and 24/7 emergency assistance. Children are covered as dependants under the family policy, with cover applying in the same way as for adults within the plan benefits.

Adding newborns to your policy

Newborns can be added to an existing family policy from birth. It is important to notify Expatriate Group promptly after the birth to ensure the child is added without a gap in cover. Once added, the newborn receives the same level of protection as other family members under the plan.

Maternity cover

Maternity cover is available as an optional benefit on selected plans. It typically includes antenatal care, delivery costs and postnatal treatment. Maternity cover is subject to a waiting period before claims can be made, so it is important to arrange this in advance of a planned pregnancy. Contact Expatriate Group directly to confirm the waiting period and benefit limits applicable to your chosen plan.

Which plan suits expat families?

Primary covers inpatient essentials and suits families who want core protection at a manageable premium. Primary PLUS adds outpatient cover, making it suitable for families who want day-to-day access to private healthcare including GP visits, specialist referrals and diagnostic tests. Select adds preventive care and higher benefit limits, including annual check-ups and preventive screenings, and is well suited to families with children who want comprehensive ongoing healthcare access. Premier provides the highest level of cover across all categories and suits families with more complex needs or those based in regions where private healthcare costs are high.

Cover area flexibility

All family plans can be configured with a worldwide cover area, worldwide excluding the USA, or a regional option depending on where the family is based. This flexibility allows families to tailor their premium to their location without compromising on the quality of cover available to them.
