Can I add winter sports or golf cover to my expat travel insurance policy?

Expatriate Group offers travel insurance that includes cover for a range of everyday leisure activities, making it good option for travellers who wish to stay active when abroad.

Leisure sports are included as standard under all our expat travel insurance policies, which can cover activities such as casual sports and non-competitive recreational activities typically enjoyed while travelling. This means that travellers do not need to add an extension for basic leisure activities provided they fall within the policy definition.

Extreme sports, however, are excluded from this coverage. Activities considered high risk are not insured, and travellers planning to take part in these should carefully review the policy to understand which activities are excluded.

Specialist winter sports are also not included within this travel insurance policy. This mean skiing, snowboarding and similar activities are not covered, even on our Comprehensive plan. Separate specialist insurance would be required if such activities and other winter sports are to be enjoyed.

Golf may be played on a casual, non-professional basis, as long as it falls within the definition of leisure sports and no exclusions apply.
