What is Travel Insurance for Over 50s?

Travel insurance for over 50s is a type of policy designed to meet the specific needs of older travellers. It offers cover for unexpected events such as medical emergencies, trip cancellations, lost luggage and travel delays.

As we age, the likelihood of needing medical support abroad can increase, so it’s essential that we’re covered with the right travel insurance. It’s a way to protect both your plans and your finances, giving you the freedom to travel with confidence.

Policy Benefits

Key benefits of our Over 50 Travel Insurance

Our over 50s travel insurance provides flexible, reliable cover to suit your lifestyle and travel plans. With a core policy that can be personalised through optional extras, you can choose the level of protection that matches your destination, activities and health needs.

Emergency Medical Evacuation

If you fall ill or suffer an injury while abroad, medical evacuation might be necessary to get you the right level of care. Our over 50s travel insurance includes cover for emergency medical transport, so you can be taken to an appropriate facility if needed.

Emergency & Accidental Medical Treatment

Our core policy includes comprehensive cover for medical treatment and emergency evacuation, including hospital care, prescribed medication, an air ambulance or other urgent treatment you might need whilst abroad. It’s designed to protect you from unexpected expenses and provide peace of mind throughout your journey.

Enhanced Benefits & Protection

The Standard policy builds on the cover provided by our Basic option, with the added benefit of optional extras for greater protection. Travel can sometimes come with the unexpected, so if you’d like cover for things like lost personal items or a misplaced passport, the Standard policy offers that extra layer of reassurance.

Cancellation and Curtailment Cover

Alongside everything included in the Standard policy, our Comprehensive cover also includes protection for trip cancellation and curtailment. This can be particularly valuable if your plans change unexpectedly or you’re required to cut your holiday short due to unforeseen events.
