Overseas health insurance customers who are considering their old age might want to research possible care homes to find the most suitable one for them.
According to recent comments from Karen Morrison, head of services design for residential care services at Care UK, dignity, independence and choice are important things for a care home to offer to its residents.
She added that they should be encouraged to "live the lives they want" with flexible care that is tailored around them through the provision of "skilled and committed" staff and "stimulating and creative" environments.
The comments come after Ms Morrison's employer announced plans to change how care homes cater for patients with dementia.
Introducing a fireplace into lounge areas to make the environment feel more like a family home was one of the group's ideas to make care homes more comfortable for dementia patients to be in.
