It is easy for expatriate healthcare policyholders to move around in Tunisia without the need for a specialist tour guide.
This is the opinion of Ffion Davies, press attache for the Tunisian National Tourist Office, who claimed: "Tunisia is easy to travel around independently, as transport around the country is cheap and efficient, via louage – shared taxi."
Expat insurance customers who are travelling around the country on a budget can find that eating out is relatively inexpensive, while affordable night-time accommodation in Tunisia is quite easy to find.
"There are also many historical and cultural attractions that would appeal [to visitors]," added Ms Davies.
Her comments come after research from Thomson and First Choice revealed that Tunisia was ranked second on the top ten hot destinations for 2011 list, coming in behind Egypt.
Meanwhile, the country's tourism office found visitor numbers and interest in Tunisia increased this year despite difficult economic timings.
