International health insurance policyholders and other travellers will be able to enjoy the new train route linking Quebec City with Le Massif ski resort next summer, Destination Quebec has stated.
Josephine Wiggall Lazarus, UK director of tourism at the organisation, said the journey will be "the new thing to do" when the link opens.
"It's an excursion in its own right. It's a modern train with dinner and the whole experience on the train," she explained.
"The train itself is the experience, because of the views and because of the sites."
Around C$230 million has been invested in the project, which is due to open on June 18th 2011 and will feature a train taking the scenic route along St Lawrence River, where passengers can join whale watching cruises or stay in the luxurious Fairmont Manior Richelieu.
Other investment in the ski resort will result in more ski runs and a variety of hotel and chalet accommodation.
Skiiers may be wise to take out international medical insurance to protect against financial costs for injuries.
