Expat insurance customers can avoid suffering from indigestion over the festive period by eating good-quality meals slowly, it has been said.
Dr Cory Holly, nutritionist and founder of the Cory Holly Institute, suggested people choose a variety of foods with different colours.
Mashed potatoes, dressings and gravy ought to be avoided, she declared.
"Counting calories is old school. New school is counting the quality of food," the expert stated.
Dr Holly also claimed individuals should chew their meals slowly and engage in conversation.
Consuming dishes quickly makes digestion less effective and promotes indigestion and weight gain, she argued.
Men and women should use cutlery and cut food up, while stretching out and putting utensils down between mouthfuls, the expert advised.
Indigestion is generally an unpleasant or painful sensation focused in the top of the abdomen and is associated with eating and drinking.
It is particularly common and a large proportion of people experience it from time to time.
