Ski lovers thinking of relocating abroad should try Bulgaria, which is emerging as one of the best places in Europe for the extreme sport, according to Cheapflights Media.
Nadine Hallak, travel expert at the company, noted that the ski season runs from late December to Easter time, giving plenty of opportunities for expatriate medical insurance policyholders to jump on a flight and hit the slopes.
There are lots of resorts to choose from, including Bansko, which has benefited from recent investment and is now the country's most popular ski destination, she said.
"The town of Bansko is situated near the river Glazane in the north-eastern foot of Pirin, below the highest and most beautiful part of the mountain. Skiers can enjoy breathtaking scenery as well as excellent snow cover," Ms Hallak explained.
Her remarks follow the Post Office Family Ski Resort Report 2010, which revealed that Bulgaria is the cheapest option for families wanting to ski on a budget.
Skiiers might be advised to take out expatriate health insurance before they travel.
