Expatriate healthcare insurance policyholders who are looking for cheap last-minute holiday deals should still ensure they plan for the essentials, according to travelsupermarket.com.
Travel expert Bob Atkinson commented that the priority should be taking out overseas medical insurance – this should be purchased at the same time that the holiday is bought, so the customer does not forget to take out cover.
While having international health insurance is important for peace of mind, holidaymakers might also wish to save time and money by buying their foreign currency in advance.
"Always sort your travel money out and if possible do it online, because you can save up to ten per cent on your travel money versus at an airport," Mr Atkinson added.
His comments come in light of research from the price comparison website revealing that British employees still have an average of 4.7 days left to take as holiday this year, with 12 per cent still owed 11 or more days off.
