Two retired expatriates have been brutally murdered in their home in South Africa during a suspected robbery.
The bodies of Christopher and Jennifer Early, both in their sixties, were found inside the boot of their Volvo by a passerby, who chanced upon the car that had been abandoned in a side ditch a few miles away.
When the member of public discovered the expats, they contacted the police, who were able to trace the car back to the Earlys’ seafront home in Hibberdene on South Africa’s north-eastern coast.
Detectives believe the expats were murdered last Thursday (July 15th). Warrant officer Banie Pienaar said it appears that Mrs Early had been killed by a single gunshot to her heart while Mr Early was bludgeoned to death with a bush knife, the Daily Mail reported.
The expatriates leave a daughter, who is said to be flying over to assist the police with their enquiries. Officers are looking for a man who used to do domestic work for the couple in connection with the crime.
