Expatriate Healthcare News: Saudi allows expats to purchase property

People who are considering expatriating are now able to purchase property in Saudi Arabia.

The kingdom has eased its real estate and investment laws in order to permit overseas workers to purchase and own property.

However, there are a number of things to consider when relocating abroad.

Expatriate health insurance is one such item that will help to ensure your well-being is covered, allowing you to handle the other stresses involved in a move overseas.

People might also want to think about the fact that access to Saudi mortgages remains limited, thus many expats will still find it hard to buy property in the region.

John Sfakianakis, chief economist at Banque Saudi Fransi, said that poor access to mortgages means that the ruling is unlikely to prompt an increase in sales.

He added: "If Saudis can't locate affordable homes I don't think expats will find it easy to afford property."
