What is Travel Insurance for Over 60s?

Travel insurance for over 60s is a type of policy specifically designed for older travellers, offering cover that reflects the increased risks that can come with age. It typically includes protection for medical emergencies, cancellations, delays, and lost or stolen belongings. These policies often take into account pre-existing medical conditions and provide more comprehensive health cover than standard travel insurance. The aim is to give peace of mind and practical support, whether you’re travelling within the UK, across Europe, or further afield.

Where do you cover?

You can enjoy a relaxing break, explore new cities, or travel with friends and family with Expatriate Group’s travel insurance for over 60s – we offer cover across Europe and worldwide.

You can travel with confidence knowing you’re protected from the moment you purchase your policy and enter your travel dates, right through until you return home.

Please note, we are unable to provide over 60 travel insurance for anyone travelling from Benin, Burkina Faso, Dominican Republic, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, or Senegal.

Policy Benefits

Key benefits of our Over 60 Travel Insurance

Our over 60 travel insurance is designed with your needs in mind, offering comprehensive cover and added reassurance while you’re away. We know that budgets and priorities differ, which is why we offer a core international travel insurance policy that can be customised with optional add-ons and destination-specific cover. This flexible approach allows you to tailor your policy and premium to suit your individual needs.

Emergency Medical Evacuation

If you become injured or unwell while travelling abroad, you may need to be medically evacuated. Our core policy covers this, ensuring you are transported to a suitable medical facility for treatment wherever you are. This is especially important for older travellers who may require specialised care during their trip.

Emergency & Accidental Medical Treatment

Our core policy provides cover against the high cost of medical treatment and evacuation. It covers 100% of costs should an air ambulance, hospitalisation, prescribed medicine or care management be required as well as providing cover for other emergency treatment, giving you peace of mind for your trip.

Enhanced Benefits & Protection

Our Standard policy includes all the benefits of the Basic policy, with the addition of optional extra protection. Unfortunately, while travelling, accidents and losses can happen, so if you want cover for personal belongings or your passport, the Standard policy is the right choice.

Cancellation and Curtailment Cover

In addition to the benefits of the Standard level of cover, our comprehensive option also protects you against cancellation and curtailment. This benefit may be important if you have to cancel your trip unexpectedly or if you are forced to return home early due to unforeseen circumstances.
