Health insurance for international students
When you study abroad, international health insurance can give you the peace of mind that your healthcare needs will be covered, so you can focus on your studies.
Our health insurance for international students provides a range of benefits and extra features so you can find the perfect solution for your healthcare requirements while you study overseas.
What is international student health insurance?
International student health insurance gives individuals studying abroad cover for their health and medical needs. With Expatriate Group, you’ll have access to private healthcare services for your day-to-day healthcare as well as any emergency treatment you need while you’re overseas.
Our medical insurance for international students gives you immediate cover and 24/7 support, with convenient healthcare that suits your requirements.
Do I need health insurance for international students?
International students typically stay and study abroad temporarily. This means they generally don’t qualify for universal healthcare services abroad. In addition, in some countries and universities, it’s part of the visa or entry requirements for international students to have health insurance.
Even in countries where health insurance is not mandatory for international students, it can be a benefit. Without it, students can face costly medical costs and fees, either for their routine treatments or an unexpected healthcare need. Some countries might offer free healthcare for students, but it can be lower quality and often comes with long wait times for treatment.
Expatriate Group can give you convenience, flexibility, and peace of mind with comprehensive international student health insurance. With us, you won’t have to worry about expensive medical fees or long wait times for your vital healthcare.

Some international health insurance providers operate a compulsory hospital network. But Expatriate Group does not, meaning you have flexibility to attend hospitals and clinics that are convenient for you, perhaps that are close to campus or offer specific treatment you need.
