Expatriate medical insurance policyholders looking for a holiday destination should make their way to Trinidad for next year's "bumper carnival", the island's minister of tourism has suggested.
Dr Rupert Griffith commented that there has been progress in tourism figures over the past few months and said he is "very pleased" with the level of growth, against a backdrop of international financial problems and depression.
"We are putting initiatives in place to enhance that growth," he explained.
"We are doing this through our marketing plan and through a number of initiatives in terms of getting the message out about our new products."
The tourism minister for Trinidad and Tobago pointed out that the Caribbean destination is noted for its "internationally known" carnival and said this will continue to be a big drawing point with international health insurance customers.
March 7th and 8th 2011 has been set aside for the event, which will incorporate street parties, music and a buzzing atmosphere.
