Charlene Hutsebaut, fitness expert for The De-Stress Diet at de-stressyourlife.com, advised people whose job involves remaining sedentary to "take the stairs whenever possible".
Furthermore, joining a gym near the office could also encourage these individuals to engage in physical activity, she stated.
Workouts could be scheduled before the working day starts, during lunchtime or straight after leaving the office, as this helps to keep motivation high, the specialist claimed.
These could just be "short 20 to 40-minute sessions", Ms Hutsebaut added.
Pilates, yoga and other exercises might be possible to do inside the office, she remarked, while weekends can be utilised for longer activities, such as hikes through the countryside.
Ms Hutsebaut had previously argued it is important to wear appropriate clothing when exercising.
