A man has been found guilty of the brutal murder of a British expatriate living in Tenerife's Los Cristianos nearly two years ago.
Jennifer Mills-Westley was stabbed and beheaded by Deyan Deyanov when she was out shopping at a local supermarket.
Fellow expat Colin Kirby was walking along the street when he saw Deyanov emerge from the shop carrying the severed head of Ms Mills-Westley.
He said: "The family said they were looking for closure, and to an extent the community is looking for closure, looking to move on and put this behind them.
"People will be pleased to get past this point and then get back to normality."
Around 40,000 British expats are on the electoral roll for Tenerife and Los Cristianos is a particularly popular destination for them as it is home to two artificial beaches and a number of good bars and restaurants.
Unfortunately criminal gangs have started to target Spain's multi-million pound holiday home market as a result of the economic crisis.
