Author and travel journalist Anna Nicholas said some of the country's "most beautiful areas" can be seen there.
"Verdant hills and pastures" can be viewed in Asturias, making this an ideal location for ambling and hiking, she claimed.
The specialist said Galicia in the north-west of the country provides "breathtaking landscapes".
It has high-quality fish dishes and "wonderful walks", Ms Nicholas continued.
Hikers might particularly appreciate the district of Cantabria, which is known for its mountains and hills, as well as lush vegetation, caves and the Picos de Europa national park, she continued.
The Santander area also has "excellent beaches" to travel along, the author noted.
CheapFlights.co.uk travel expert Nadine Hallak recently promoted the region of Logrono, which produces Rioja wine, as well as San Sebastian for its "walking trails and traditional Basque country tapas".
