A death in the family is a terrible event with which to have to come to terms. But what if that death occurs to one of the main income providers the loss can have an even more significant effect on those left behind.

Level term life insurance protects your family from the financial loss that they would suffer in the event of your death. The policy pays a lump sum, as determined by you at the outset, in the event of your death occurring during the term of the insurance.

Level term life insurance provides cover for a fixed annual premium for the duration of the cover and you can select cover for a term of 1 to 10 years. The sum insured remains 'level' for the period of cover (it is not a reducing amount as provided for by some policies) so the full amount of the sum insured would be payable regardless of when a death occurred during the cover.

A couple may also choose to obtain cover on a dual life, first death basis. Providing protection against the death of both parties, with the sum being payable to the other in the event of a claim, or other nominated grantee.
