According to Global Property Guide, Canadian and European expatriates have been moving to the central-American country and this is to take advantage of properties in Cancun and Acapulco, claims Property Frontiers.
Chris Chadd, head of research at Property Frontiers, said: "Established resorts of Cancun and Acapulco are testament to the potential the country has to offer and it is no wonder private investors are investing large amounts of capital."
With foreign investment increasing in Mexico, the number of people from abroad looking to establish expatriate communities is likely to increase, Mr Chadd has claimed.
"As banking and mortgage markets mature, it would be safe to say that foreign transactions in real estate will continue to rise," he added.
Mexico was one of the world's top ten tourist destinations with over 22 million visitors last year.
