A spokesperson for the Embassy said Brazil was beginning to attract an increasing number of tourists and property investors which could lead to a rise in the population of the expatriate community.
"It seems like the outside world has discovered Brazil, not just as a place to visit, but as a place to invest on the property market," he said.
The spokesperson went on to say that the Brazilian property market was currently in good health so people who want to move abroad may want to become an expatriate in Brazil.
"According to statistics, property prices in Brazil have been growing to the tune of 20 per cent per year, especially in the north - east of Brazil," he added.
Property specialists BuyAssociation claim that the cost of living in Brazil is just 20 per cent of the UK.
