Worldwide Medical Insurance News: Expatriates celebrate Anzac Day

More than 3,000 Australian expatriates are thought to have visited the northern French town of Villers-Bretonneux at the weekend to attend the annual Anzac Day ceremony.
The national day of remembrance is celebrated by Australia and New Zealand on April 25th each year to pay tribute to the thousands of military personnel who have fought in wars over the last century.
The French town has for the last three years held a dawn service at a nearby military cemetery to remember those who lost their lives during the First World War.
Some 46,000 diggers died on the Western Front between 1916 and 1918 and around 1,000 lost their lives during the Battle of Villers-Bretonneux, in which soldiers from the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (Anzac) liberated the town from German forces and helped shape the course of the war.
Australian foreign minister Stephen Smith attended the dawn service at the Australian National Memorial and gave a speech to the 3,500 people gathered there.
Ceremonies in other parts of the world, including the UK, Germany, Indonesia, Ireland and Sweden, also took place to commemorate Anzac Day.
