Worldwide Medical Insurance News: Expat speaks of earthquake shock

An expatriate from Scotland has told his former local paper about the earthquake that has rocked his family home in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Chris Andrews, originally from Carnoustie, spoke to The Courier about the natural disaster that hit the country last Saturday (September 4th), damaging 100,000 homes in New Zealand's second-largest city.
The expatriate said his own house had not been affected by the 7.0-magnitude quake but his family are still prepared for the after effects.
"We had a rough night with three big aftershocks striking - two of them were magnitude 5.4," he said.
"We thought that the aftershocks would get less frequent and less powerful so it's a pretty nervous time."
Meanwhile, New Zealand prime minister John Key has remarked that it was "miraculous" that no-one was killed during the event, despite the widespread damage.
Experts have warned expatriate health insurance policyholders and other residents to remain cautious because there is a strong likelihood that powerful aftershocks will continue for weeks.
