Worldwide Medical Insurance News: Conjoined twins arrive in Saudi for health treatment

Conjoined Palestinian twins have arrived in a Saudi Arabia hospital in news that may interest expatriates living in the emirate.
The day-old girls, Ritaj and Rital Abu Assi, arrived at the specialist conjoined twins unit in the King Abdul Aziz Medical City hospital, Riyadh.
Their shared heart has a serious defect, putting the babies in a critical condition, Gulf News reported.
"Tests confirmed that the condition of the twins Rital and Ritaj is very critical and their health is not stable," hospital spokesman Sami Al Shalan told the paper.
Hospital doctors are monitoring the girls' progress and are waiting to see if their condition improves, he added.
The twins were born in the southern Gaza town of Khan Younis on March 27th but needed specialised healthcare because they share a small intestine and are joined at the chest.
They were taken across the border into Egypt before being flown to Saudi Arabia. King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz is believed to be paying for the twins' medical treatment, the newspaper said.
