Worldwide Medical Insurance News: China 'has become cheaper'

Prospective expatriates should be reassured that China has become a cheaper place to live over the last few years as a boom in the tourism industry has opened the country up to foreigners, a specialist holiday firm has stated.
Andrea Loddo, product and contracts manager at Hayes & Jarvis, commented: "The appeal of China has always been linked to a fascination with the country's heritage and history, combined with the opportunity to get to know more about a culture so remote from our own."
She pointed out that a trip to the orient has become a more popular experience in recent years and the emergence of China as a growing player on the international stage has allowed it to be seen as somewhere that could attract expatriates.
Expatriate medical insurance policyholders might have boosted the number of passengers to come through Hong Kong International Airport in the last 12 months, as figures released by the airport show monthly highs of 4.7 million people catching flights there.
Overall visitor numbers to south-east Asia were reported to be 29 per cent up on last year's figures.
