A new study by the Health and Safety Executive has revealed UK workers are over-stressed and taking more days off work.
The survey, conducted by Croner and YouGov, showed British workers are so stressed they are missing double the amount of days than before.
In 2007-2008, 13.3 million days of work were missed because of the condition. The research also discovered that work was the most common reason (63 per cent) for stress.
"Stress issues should not be put on the back burner as it has a direct effect on reputation and customer satisfaction," says Gillian Dowling, employment technical consultant at Croner.
Other factors that affected people and made their lives more stressful were finances (62 per cent), the economy (49 per cent) and health concerns (22 per cent).
Many of the Brits who move abroad do so to seek a more laid-back way of life, although the expatriate experience also has its difficulties.
It is advisable to look for international medical insurance should you be planning to move abroad.
