UAE still offers high expat potential

A large number of expats in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are still considering setting up businesses despite the economic downturn.
That's according to market research company Real Opinions, who told Emirates Business that the economy of the UAE was still doing well.
Dan Healy, the CEO of Real Opinions, told Emirates Business: "As many as 34 per cent of the respondents said they are likely to set up their own business and 43 per cent said they are unlikely to leave the UAE in the coming 12 months, which shows their faith in the economy.
"The potential for small businesses to thrive in the UAE is significant. Without corporation tax and other statutory paper work [entrepreneurs can] concentrate on business rather than paperwork."
Dubai is the main port and industrial hub of the UAE, although many also head to Abu Dhabi and Al Fujayrah also.
From September 2009, Dubai will see a metro service begin, allowing visitors and expatriates to get around the city with ease.
