
Turkey 'a very good alternative'

That is the opinion of James Dearsley, the European sales manager of Atlas International, who claimed that more and more are buying in the Muslim country.
He said: "We are certainly seeing an increase in [people] wanting a permanent move, so it is offering a very good alternative for people.
"Obviously the exchange rate is favourable which means that people are more willing to look at it as an alternative."
According to the World Tourism Organisation, Turkey was the ninth most visited country in the world in 2007, with an increase of over three million people visiting in just one year.
In 2000, just 9.6 million visited the country, whereas in 2007, over 22 million made a trip there.
Property investment magazine Jet-to-Let reported last month that Turkey was the tenth most popular place in the world to buy a foreign home
