Travellers 'should haggle for deals'
16/03/09 15:31
Expatriates moving between their new home abroad and the UK should consider advice given to holiday travellers - haggle and avoid peak travel times.
According to ticket agent lastminute.com, avoiding the most popular travel periods and negotiating deals with agents can help reduce costs.
Mark Bower, lifestyle sales director at the firm, said if you are booking via a travel agent "try to make them work as hard as they can for you to try and get you the best deal".
The best deals are "always available online" says Mr Bower. He also recommends booking your travel in the last two weeks before you intend to travel and notes: "People should haggle."
According to a recent ABTA report, some 90 per cent of visitors to Spain had been there before.
