Teaching English 'a good way to earn money'

British expatriates needing to bring in some extra cash could consider teaching English.
That's the advice of investment experts Shelter Offshore, which has compiled the ten best ways for British expatriates to earn money.
According to the firm, the Teaching English as a Foreign Language qualification is most sought after when teaching in schools but may not be necessary when working as a private tutor.
Another idea that could generate income is teaching the local language to recently arrived expatriates.
"You will have the benefit of having learned the language as a new foreign resident yourself, so you will know which words and phrases are important to learn first," Shelter Offshore notes.
Other opportunities exist working as an expat expert, where you can pass on knowledge to new arrivals, or as a private tutor so you can teach skills on a subject you have become expert in.
If these are not to your liking then perhaps run a B&B, build a holiday home or export local produce.
British expatriates might import British goods, run tourism trips or write about their new home.
According to official statistics, two million Brits have moved abroad in the ten years to 2006.
