Ski safety warning could highlight need for expatriate medical insurance

Winter sports fans planning to take to the slopes have been told to "snow before you go" by a safety expert.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents recommends skiers check their insurance policy and research what rescue services are available before embarking on a trip.
Expatriate holidaymakers may want to contact their broker to check their international health insurance will apply to their chosen destination.
Carl Christopher, a spokesperson for the safety charity, said many injuries are caused when skiers' fitness levels are not up to standard.
He suggests common problems, such as sprains and muscle strains, can be minimised by exercising more before hitting the snow.
"Don't ski alone, ski as part of a group and quit while you're ahead, so you don't push yourself too much," he added.
Top ski coach Warren Smith recently told the Guardian that winter sports enthusiasts should remember everyone has a weaker turn on one side and try to follow a few simple exercises to correct the imbalance.
