Plastic is 'probably the safest way to pay'

Card payments are probably the most secure way of making a payment when abroad, say experts.
The UK Cards Association and travel association ABTA have published new guidance, which could be of use to expatriates living abroad.
"We do advise [consumers] to make sure when they go abroad they have their card issuer's address and their card issuer's emergency phone number," says the UK Payments Association's (Apacs)PR assistant, Addy Frederick.
Would-be expatriates may pop back and forth before making their final decision. If they need to get access to their finances they should make sure they have a variety of sources to hand.
"Take various methods of payment. If you've got travellers cheques, some cash, of course, and plastic cards and possibly pre-paid cards" Ms Frederick noted.
Plastic can also prevent against fraud as bills can be reclaimed against a supplier if they breach their contract.
