Overseas Health insurance News: Saudi salary boost could improve academic standards

Expatriates who teach in Saudi universities should have their salaries increased in order to attract qualified staff from overseas and improve universities' academic standards, the Shoura Council's education and scientific research committee has recommended.
The committee has planned to present its proposal to the council next week, local paper Al-Riyadh Arabic reported this week.
The committee hoped it would gain council approval and noted that the international postgraduate research university KAUST could play a significant role in boosting higher education in the kingdom.
Expatriates who are thinking of moving to Saudi Arabia might research medical insurance overseas to ensure they are covered.
The standard of healthcare is high but as no free healthcare is provided for expats, health insurance is vital to cover hospitalisation and treatment costs.
Expats are advised to negotiate private health insurance as part of their remuneration package.
