Overseas Health Insurance News: Walk to work to 'lower stress'

19/04/11 15:37

Overseas health insurance customers living in pleasant climates might want to take advantage of the summer weather and walk or cycle to work.

According to Roger Harrop, business expert and international speaker, walking or cycling to work will help people to enjoy an endorphin release on their commute.

He added: "You can also take the opportunity to quietly look at, and think about, the big picture of your job and plan what you are going to focus on when you get to work."

Mr Harrop also noted that you will "improve your productivity, stress levels and wellbeing" by commuting under your own steam rather than driving to work or commuting by train or tube.

However, some expatriates might want to talk to their doctor first before embarking on a new fitness plan.

Earlier this year, Bristol University published research claiming that lowering car usage should be considered a "feasible and effective strategy for increasing physical activity among the workforce and improving health".
