Overseas Health Insurance News: Expats gear up for Rugby World Cup 2011 in New Zealand

Expatriate Canadians and Tongans living in New Zealand could be celebrating after news emerged that their home countries' rugby teams are to compete in the World Cup in 2011.

Twenty teams in all will be battling their way through the competition, which will be held in New Zealand. The teams from Canada and Tonga are expected to be based in the Bay of Islands and Whangarei for the event.

Expats living in New Zealand could expect to see 70,000 visitors to the country over the course of the cup and the matches could be watched by record numbers of viewers. The last tournament, hosted by France and the UK, was watched by 4.2 million people.

The Rugby World Cup has been hosted every four years since 1987 and 94 countries participated in the last tournament.
