One in four expatriates living in France set up businesses
21/05/09 12:50
According to research by HSBC, France is a popular choice for expatriates looking to go into business as part of their move abroad.
The lenders' Expat Explorer Survey found almost a quarter of expatriates set up a business of some sort.
It also revealed that the majority of people who decide to buy immoveable property - not caravans or mobile homes - are aged over 55.
The study concluded that the expatriates who make the most of living in France are generally a little older and perhaps a little wiser too.
At just 21 miles from the Dover coast, France is a natural choice for people of all ages looking to try a new way of life.
Some young professionals even commute to London, taking advantage of the recently improved Eurostar train services.
