New podcast offers tax advice

A new podcast by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has been launched to help British expatriates and others with offshore accounts deal with their tax payments.
HMRC's permanent secretary for tax, Dave Hartnett, has used the tool to remind people with offshore accounts and outstanding taxation bills they have to settle their accounts.
In the podcast Mr Hartnett explains that those with outstanding tax bills only have a limited time in which they can take advantage of capped charges.
Currently the government is operating a New Disclosure Opportunity, which gives people the chance to pay off outstanding bills with only a ten per cent charge.
Mr Hartnett says those people who fail to pay will be hit by penalties "much higher than ten or 20 per cent".
British expatriates can access the podcast for free on the HMRC's website.
