New healthcare academy planned in Dubai

The Dubai Healthcare Authority (DHA) and Royal Phillips Electronics have announced joint plans to establish a new healthcare academy in the emirate.
In a statement, the pair declared that the new continuous medical education centre will be based in Dubai, it will also provide support for healthcare workers throughout the UAE.
"This is a great opportunity for the medical community to upgrade their knowledge and skills and to get in touch with high calibre scientists and experts to exchange their expertise," said Dr Khalil Qayed, director of medical education at the DHA.
Among its areas of specialisation will be the training of new expats entering the UAE to work in healthcare, with both companies identifying a need for the continual training of new medical workers.
Dubai has invested heavily in healthcare infrastructure in recent years as it has cemented its position as the UAE's financial capital, attracting a heavy stream of expats in the process.
