Brasov in Romania will soon get its own airport, making flying to the country much easier.
The new hub will be of most use to expatriates living in central Romania and is to be built 166km from the country's capital Bucharest, Balkantraveller.com has reported.
Brits looking to move to Romania may be tempted by Brasov's location - situated in the centre of the country it gives quick access to the Black Sea, the stunning Carpathian mountains and southern Transylvania.
UK citizens looking for cheaper property abroad will be pleased to note that despite previous increases, property values in Romania have fallen of late.
At the county's National Real Estate Fair, developers sought to attract more buyers by dropping prices between 20 and 30 per cent, according to Propertyshowrooms.com
The Balkans are a popular holiday and expatriate destination thanks to their stunning countryside and coastal warmth.
However, their healthcare provision varies from country to country and would-be expatriates should consider taking international health insurance before visiting for longer periods.
