Disney has announced a significant step forward in its bid to open a new theme park in China, expatriate families may be interested to hear.
The global entertainment group confirmed a new agreement with the country's central government regarding the planned attraction in Shanghai's Pudong district.
Announcing the news yesterday (November 3rd), Robert A Iger, president and chief executive of the organisation, said: "China is one of the most dynamic, exciting and important countries in the world, and this approval marks a very significant milestone for The Walt Disney Company in mainland China."
It comes ahead of US president Barack Obama's visit to the country in two weeks.
The government's approval will allow Disney to continue developing the Magic Kingdom-style theme park, tweaked to suit the Chinese market.
This latest project will be the sixth resort opened by the group worldwide, with sites in Florida, California, Hong Kong, Paris and Tokyo.
