Macau could become the next destination to top the list of people planning to emigrate from the UK, it has been suggested.
UK-based overseas property portal Homesgofast.com has suggested Macau is currently showing all the signs of being a prosperous location for people planning to emigrate from the UK and buy relatively cheap property.
Nick Marr, chief executive of Homesgofast.com, said Macau is currently a "tip for the top" because the area's appeal to gambling tourists stands the Chinese region in "good stead for long-term investment".
He continued: "The region's revenue from gaming was said to be larger than that of Las Vegas in 2007 and with new casinos being built and a huge amount of tourism to the region, it seems a very exciting prospect."
Figures published by the Government of Macau Special Administrative Region (SAR) Statistics and Census Service this month have revealed that 30.2 million people visited Macau in 2008.
