Lot area of France popular with property investors

British property investors are heading in increasing numbers to the Lot area of the Pyrenees, it has been suggested.

The Midi-Pyrenees Tourist Board claimed that the area had become popular thanks to its wine growing regions.

Solenne Odon, marketing and communications executive for the board, commented that Rocamadour and St Cirq Lapopie were particularly popular.

She added that the Lot area was only one hour away from Tolouse, which has many direct flights from the UK, making it a good idea for those who want to be able to get home relatively easily.

The area is particularly popular with astronomy and space culture fans due to its long history of being involved in the subject.

France came second in a recent poll by Jet-to-Let magazine of destinations favoured by UK property investors.

Cyprus came first in the list, with the USA in third, United Arab Emirates in fourth and India in fifth.
