It will 'be easier' to become an expatriate in Croatia

People wanting to move abroad and become an expatriate in Croatia should be aware that buying property in the country will become easier, according to Investment Group Croatia.
Andrea Marston, general manager of the firm, said investment in Croatia will be more straightforward for any potential expatriate looking to relocate following new laws set to be introduced in 2009.
"In February 2009 they are going to change the law to allow foreigners to buy a lot easier. That will mean that some people who have been scared of buying in Croatia because it looks like being a complicated buying process will wait until next year," she said.
Anyone who wants to move abroad before February needs to apply to the Ministry of Justice which can be done through a lawyer, according to Ms Marston.
"It is very straightforward in practice because your lawyer does it and you get your approval through in six weeks," she said.
Figures released by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics revealed that there were 2.92 million visitors to the country in August, an increase of four per cent on the same period last year.
