Internet offers best money deals for expats

By going online expatriates can find the cheapest way of exchanging currency, says a leading consumer magazine.
Which? Money recently reviewed the cost of swapping money and found some of the more obvious choices were expensive.
The publication noted that high street banks and travel agents are more costly than services available on the web. It also noted that the most expensive places to change your money are found in airports.
Martyn Hocking, editor of the magazine, said by looking ahead and changing money before you travel you will get a better exchange.
"Head to a city centre bureau de change or go online for the best deals," he commented.
By planning ahead, expats who are about to settle in a new country can also get great deals on their international travel insurance.
More than 180 million European Health Insurance Cards (EHIC) have now been issued but they do not provide the specialist cover found with expatriate insurance policies.
